The Mullaerts family at Villa Söderåsen

Since March 2016, Villa Söderåsen is owned and operated by us in the Mullaertfamily. Our vision is to carefully manage and further develop Villa Söderåsen as a personal, warm and welcoming place – for nature-loving tourists, but also for meetings, stays and different types of gatherings.

The turn-of-the-century villa has welcomed guests long before our time, ever since 1904. Our intention is to continue to take care of Villa Söderåsenwith love and care, so that the place can continue to welcome guests for many generations to come. We want to preserve and capture the spirit of the times that prevailed when the house was once built. When renovating and furnishing, we therefore start from a classic turn-of-the-century feeling, while at the same time adapting the house to be able to receive many guests in a practical and thoughtful way. Everything we do is characterized by care and love, which permeates the welcoming "home-at-home" atmosphere that many guests describe as enjoying so much.

We want to create an environment where people can land, meet and be inspired, with nature as an obvious starting point. Yoga, music, meditation, dance and art in different expressions are things that are close to our hearts and that naturally take place in the activities.

The Mullaert family has lived in Röstånga since 2010 and we are passionate about the village's life, community and development.

Åsa Mullaert is responsible for the daily operation of Villa Söderåsen and is also a trained yoga teacher. She holds continuous yoga classes and events in Röstånga and arranges workshops, retreats and events together with other yoga teachers and inspirers. Villa Söderåsen offers a quiet and beautiful place that is particularly suitable for these contexts. Åsa is also a nature guide and is happy to guide guests out into nature. She regularly offers Forest Yoga – full days in nature presence in Söderåsens nationalpark with hiking, yoga and mindfulness.

Sebastian Mullaert is an internationally active musician and composer with his studio in Röstånga, where he invites artists and artists to creative collaborations. He also arranges creative retreats at Villa Söderåsen, where participants from all over the world gather to create, immerse themselves and be inspired. Villa Söderåsen, the studio and the nature around Söderåsen are a central part of Sebastian's creative process – and something he would like to pass on to other creators.

The history of Villa Söderåsen

Villa Söderåsen was built in 1904 and was then called the Tourist Hotel in Röstånga. From the very beginning, the house was a place where people traveled to rest, meet and experience the nature around Söderåsen.

Since then, the building has continued to receive guests in various forms, and its history as a tourist accommodation lives on to this day. The architecture and character of the house bear clear traces of this heritage – both inside and out.

The proximity to nature has always been the main reason why people have come here. That was the case over a hundred years ago, and it still is. Villa Söderåsen still stands today as a place where the landscape, tranquillity and the house together create a whole that invites you to stay and recover.
